We at ReUseItAll know how important the privacy and security of your personal information
is to you. This is the privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) for the

of that website (together, the “Site”).

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected and used
by ReUseItAll (“we”, “us” or “our”) in connection with your use of the Site.
By accepting the User Agreement while creating
a ReUseItAll account, or by using the Site, you consent to the collection and use
of your personal information by ReUseItAll as described in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy is valid from 16th August 2007 and is effective upon acceptance for new users.
ReUseItAll is the sole data controller with regard to the processing of ReUseItAll users' personal information.
Everyone visiting the Site is free to browse, search for and view items anonomously,
without disclosing any personal information to us.
To access features of the Site, such as offering your own items or contacting
other users, you will need to create an account. In doing so, you will provide
us with personal information, and you consent to us transferring that information to,
and storing it on, our servers located in the United Kingdom. We will always endeavour to
transfer and store your information in a safe, confidential and secure environment.
We may collect and store the following personal information about you:
- email address, physical address, telephone number and other contact information;
- information about your activities on the Site (such as information on contact with
other ReUseItAll users, item descriptions and other content you generate or information
that relates to your account);
- correspondence through the Site, correspondence with us and feedback; and
- information and statistics on traffic to and from the Site (including the URL you
just came from and the URL you go to next, whether they are URLs on the Site or not),
browser information and standard web log information.
We may use your personal information as follows:
- to provide the services and customer support you request;
- prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities, and enforce the
User Agreement;
- customise, measure, and improve our services and the Site's content and layout; and
- tell you about our existing products and services, changes to our existing products
and services, new products and services and promotional offers based on your preferences;
You can at any time modify what communications you receive from us via the “My preferences”
page under My Account. However, there are certain
administrative communications that are mandetory, inorder for us to provide the services of the
Site effectively.
We do not disclose your personal information to any third parties for marketing
purposes. However, we may disclose your personal information as follows:
- your email address to other ReUseItAll users, when they make contact with you regarding one
of your items, or when you make contact with them;
- the City and Country parts of your location(s) that are linked to items you offer
on the Site, to all users of the Site, so they can see the general location of your
items. No other parts of your address(es) are disclosed;
- the contents of your User Profile, to all users of the Site;
- to other third parties to whom you explicitly ask us to send your information, or about whom
you are otherwise explicitly notified and consent to when using a specific service; and
- to law enforcement agencies, other governmental agencies or third parties in response to a
request for information (such as a Section 29 (3) Data Protection Act 1998 form) relating
to a criminal investigation, alleged illegal activity or any other activity that may expose
us, you or any other ReUseItAll user to legal liability.
Cookies are small files placed on your computer’s hard drive, which we may use on
certain pages of the Site to help operate the pages and customise your services.
You can set the preferences of your web browser to warn you when new cookies are
beling excepted, to prevent new cookies being accepted, or even disallow cookies
altogether. Refer to your web browser's Help function for details on how to
do this. Please be aware that certain functions and services of the Site will
only function through the use of cookies, therefore we recommend leaving them enabled.
Your personal information that you provide to use when creating and using a ReUseItAll
account, is protected by your ReUseItAll password. This is encrypted and stored
securly on our servers, but you can help too, by using unique numbers, letters, and
special characters and by not disclosing your password to anyone else. If you
do disclose your password to others, remember that you are resonsible for all activities
carried out by your account. If someone else does gain knowledge of your password, then
your personal information held on your account may also be accessable to them.
In this situalte you should contact use straight away and change your password.
Your UserName is displayed throughout the Site and is therefore visible to the public.
All of your activities on the Site are associated with your UserName. If you associate your
name with your UserName, people may be able to personally identify your ReUseItAll activities.
You are resonsible for protecting your identity and personal information as far
as you wish, when entering publicly visible information such as item descriptions
and your User Profile. Such fields are clearly marked on the Site, advising you
of when information will be public.
When you re-visit the Site from a computer that you have used to access the Site previously,
certain information about you may be visible before you log in, such as your UserName.
Therefore, if you access the Site from a shared computer or a computer in an internet café,
such information may also be visible to other individuals who use the computer after you.
You can access most of the personal information that we hold for your by visiting
the Site, signing-in and going to the “My details” section of
My Account. You must promptly update your
personal information if it is incorrect or has changed, so that we don't hold
inaccurate information on you. You may not be able to edit or remove certain
publicly accessable information that you enter onto the Site, such as item
descriptions, feedback messages, and forum messages. You can request that your
account be closed, and in this situation we will remove your personal
information from pubic view and from our servers where at all possible,
in accordance with applicable law. We may retain personal information from
closed accounts in order to comply with legal obligations, assist with any
investigations, enforce the User Agreement,
and take other actions as permitted by law.
We use encryption, passwords and physical security, to provent unauthorised access
to your personal information. However, you are probably aware that third parties may
unlawfully intercept or access transmissions over the internet. Other users
may also abuse your personal information that they access legitimatly through the
Site. Therefore, we cannot promise, and you should not expect, that your personal
information or private communications will always remain private.
We may amend this Privacy Policy at any time by posting the amended terms on the Site.
We will notify you by email (as long as you have this option selected under
“My preferences”) of any any amendments we make.
